Wiggles star John Pearce and his heavily pregnant wife Jessie Adamo recently came under fire when they shared the process of building their unborn child’s nursery.
Posting a video of the arduous task on Instagram, ‘hot’ Purple Wiggle, 33, attempted a heartwarming nursery reveal after breaking a sweat organizing and building furniture.
But when the stunning room was revealed, some critics could only focus on one “scary” detail: John and Jessie’s cat Bally was sleeping in their baby’s crib.
The video shows the Justice Crew member putting in a hard day’s work as he gathered all the furniture for the nursery and organized the necessary items in his drawers.
At one point he took off his shirt to show off his very fit physique while joking about how much cardboard he had to throw away.
John captioned the video with: “Dear baby, while mommy builds you, daddy builds the nursery and gets rid of all the cardboard.”

The footage ended with John and Jessie showing their long-haired cat, Bally, lying in the middle of the unborn baby’s bed while the children’s entertainer petted him.
One person began the barrage of unsolicited criticism with: “Hi John, please keep the cat out of the crib or the place where the newborn will sleep, as cat hair can cause allergies in babies.”
‘I hate to be that person, but I have to say it. If your cat is comfortable in the crib before the baby comes home, don’t be surprised if he climbs up there when the baby moves out of the bassinet. “I’ve heard stories of accidental suffocation, which is terrifying,” another added.
A third said: “Cats love the smell of babies so be careful.” My mother found our cat with the baby inside the bassinet on the day of her baptism. Luckily not on top of her!’
“No one hates when they tell you not to encourage the cat to sit in the crib because the cat will think it’s okay and at some point the baby could be there.” “You have to try to talk Bally out of it,” one user commented.
Another wrote: ‘Be careful with the cat. My aunt found it on my cousin’s face when she was a baby.
Although numerous followers criticized the future parents, others rushed to their defense, criticizing those who complained about the cat lying in the crib.
“All the unsolicited parenting advice from all the experts,” one person wrote, while another simply said, “How cute!” I love seeing the cat in the bassinet.

A third took a more direct approach, writing: ‘OMG can everyone stop worrying about their cat?
‘Cats are supposed to be introduced to new furniture before the baby arrives, because then it won’t be something completely new to them as they’ve already gotten used to it.
“But also use some common sense: They will most likely re-wash the things the cat has been lying on.” Let people live their damn lives,’ they added.
John and Jessie, who married in 2019, announced they were expecting their first child in June in a touching Instagram post.
The announcement included a touching video of the emotional moment they found out Jessie was pregnant and confirmed they were ready to have a baby.
“It’s been a long journey, but they have finally sent us our beautiful angel,” they wrote in the post.
“We are overjoyed and can’t wait to meet you – baby Adamo Pearce will be born in December 2024.”
Since then, they’ve shared regular updates about their baby journey on social media, from the initial ultrasound to a baby shower and a luxurious ‘babymoon’ in Fiji last month.
John and Jessie began dating in 2012, just two years after their dance-pop group Justice Crew rose to fame after winning Australia’s Got Talent.
They married in a private ceremony in October 2019 and their fifth anniversary together will be celebrated later this year.
The children’s entertainer then took his purple underpants and joined The Wiggles in 2021.
