This is the horrifying moment villagers cut open two huge crocodiles and found human remains after one of the animals “killed and ate” a six-year-old girl.
The huge reptiles were captured and gutted by experts from the Sarawak Forestry Corporation in Malaysia after Cecelia Julan Intik went missing while swimming in the Sungai Tatau River on September 25.
The huge crocodiles measured 17 and 18 feet respectively, and were so heavy that searchers had to use a tugboat and crane to haul them ashore.
Cecelia’s family told police that the powerful predator had dragged her under while playing in the water at Sungai Tatau.
The young girl’s horrified sister and grandfather watched as she was dragged down, but could do nothing to stop the crocodile’s attack.
Malaysian media reported that six-year-old Cecelia Julan Intik was “killed and eaten” by an 18-foot-long crocodile while swimming in the Sungai Tatau River on September 25.
The two huge crocodiles found after the attack were so heavy that searchers had to use a tugboat and crane to haul them ashore.
Now grim remains, believed to belong to Cecelia, have been discovered in one of the crocodiles after wildlife experts gutted the captured reptiles on September 27, according to local media reports.
Agents found human teeth, bones and a handful of coins on one of the enormous river beasts.
Some of Cecela’s relatives watched the gruesome examination to help police identify the remains.
Tatau District Police Deputy Superintendent Jame Reis confirmed: “On Friday, two crocodiles were trapped.
“The first one at Hulu Sungai Sap at around 9:30am weighed 1.2 tonnes and the second animal was caught at 13:20pm weighing 1.3 tonnes, both on the same day.”
He added: “A dissection performed on the first reptile led to the discovery of teeth, bones and coins inside the crocodile’s stomach.”
Local media added that the human remains of one of the animals were sent to the forensic laboratories of the Malaysian Department of Chemistry for analysis.
The captured animals were taken back to the Pasar Lama Tatau jetty and handed over to forestry experts for study.
The findings of the second dissection have not yet been made public.
Fragments including what are believed to be the remains of Cecelia’s body were found after wildlife experts gutted the crocodile.
It comes after a 12ft crocodile killed a grandmother in Indonesia, with video showing the moment authorities recovered her body from the beast’s belly.
Halima Rahakbauw, 54, was washing pots in a river in Wali village in the Maluku Islands after spending Tuesday morning searching for clams when the reptile attacked.
After seeing a sandal and part of a leg in the river, the villagers reported the incident to the police, who found the crocodile eating the woman’s body and shot her dead.
The predator was pulled from the water and locals recovered parts of Rahakbauw’s body from its stomach before cutting the animal into pieces and disposing of it.
