Home and Away’s biggest stars have come under fire from Network Seven executives as their salaries become the latest to come into question amid the bloodshed.

Household names such as Ada Nicodemou and James Stewart, believed to be worth millions, have seen their huge pay suspended.

As Seven continues to cut jobs, an inside source told Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday that its biggest soap stars will not be getting a pay rise any time soon.

“I don’t think now is a good time for Ada Nicodemou or James Stewart to renegotiate their contracts,” the source said.

‘While the show still maintains high ratings, the long-running soap opera will not be spared from budget cuts as the network tightens its belt.

‘The current executive team is preserving the network, but it’s fair to say the glory days of well-paid soap opera stars are over.’

They went on to say that executives have taken a hard look at the salaries of some of their original Home and Away talent and may be “reducing their screen time.”

“It’s something Neighbours has done with Alan Fletcher and Jackie Woodburne. Even Ryan Maloney now has a more profitable role behind the scenes,” they revealed.

‘The show can’t afford to lose these famous characters, but it sends them to Yabbie Creek for a month or two.

‘That’s where we can expect some of these cuts to appear on the screen.’

Despite the fact that these measures were supposedly taken to protect the popular long-running soap opera, the network believes the show will survive the budget cuts unscathed.

However, the source says that in the meantime “anyone who wants to increase their salary on the highly rated soap opera will have to wait until next year.”

While it’s not known exactly how much Home and Away’s biggest names are paid, stars such as Ada, 47, and James, 48, are thought to be worth millions combined for their work on the show.

Ada, who is currently dating James on and off-screen, previously flaunted her flashy $147,000 Porsche Macan car in 2018.

Veteran star Ray Meagher, who plays the beloved Alf Stewart, was also once He was reported to be earning $500,000 a year ago in 2009, which has probably increased.
