The next Hearthstone expansion combines the card game with the fervor and revelry of a rock concert. Blizzard announced Festival of Legends on Tuesday, along with a trailer that showed off a little bit of the expansion’s theme and flavor. In the narration of Hearthstone, the Festival of Legends is a huge music festival set in the Thousand Needles. Not only will the 145 cards in the expansion consist of musicians and artists, but also anyone else you might encounter at such a party, such as songwriters or roadies.
Festival of Legends introduces a new keyword: Finale. If the player uses up their remaining mana with a Finale card, there will be an extra bonus that will end their turn with some kind of tasty bonus.
The only thing more legendary than the music… is this expansion.

Each class is dealt three unique cards: a legendary musician, a legendary song, and their favorite instrument as a weapon. While Paladins prefer disco, the Warrior is represented by a rock star. The Warlock musician prefers classical, and in a surprising twist, the Shaman class is allowed to dabble in jazz.
Festival of Legends has a new type of minion: soloists. These minions are at their best when they are alone on the field, so players should drop them when there are no other creatures on their side of the board. New harmonic spells also offer a strategic choice; they switch between a harmonic or dissonant mode each round. For example, would you rather give a +4 attack to any two minions, or hold a turn and give a +2 attack to any four minions? There is no universally right answer; it depends on the specific game.
Metal concerts are technically canon in World of Warcraft for quite some time now. Elite Tauren Chieftain, also known as ETC, is a metal band led by Blizzard employees who occasionally appear in the game to rock out for fans. ETC even earned a spot on the heroes of the storm roster, with a skill pack full of shredding and thrashing. Of Festival of Legendswe see every Warcraft faction participating, from undead bassists to demonic opera singers.
The expansion has some evergreen changes for it Hearthstone also – one is a new Priest-specific keyword called Overheal, and the other is a new signature card format that is much more aesthetically pleasing. Festival of Legends arrives in April; Blizzard has not specified an exact date.
