Hawkers Beer enters voluntary administration as Aussie company teeters on brink of collapse

A popular Australian craft beer brand has collapsed after a decade in business.

Hawkers Beer, based at Reservoir in Melbourne, announced on Monday it had entered voluntary administration.

Brewery founder Mazen Hajjar cited rising operating costs impacting not just Hawkers but Australia’s entire craft beer industry.

The brewery has become one of Melbourne’s largest craft beer manufacturers and distributors.

More to come.
