A mum was shocked to walk into her kitchen and spot two seriously “worrying” changes that weren’t there when she went to bed.
A New South Wales woman went to make breakfast one morning when she discovered her avocado had been gnawed and there were mysterious “brown bits” all over her plate and sink.
“I woke up to signs of a creature during the night,” she wrote in a post, asking others to help her identify the culprit. ‘There is poop in the sink and on my kitchen counter. I live alone in a four-bedroom cabin. Where do you go during the day? What should I do?’
He noted that there were no entry or exit points into the area other than the drainage. Still, many believed that a mouse had sneaked in and left droppings all over his house.
Pest control experts have noted that gnaw marks and scratches are the most obvious indicator of rats and mice.
A mum was shocked to walk into her kitchen and discover two warning signs that something had gone terribly wrong overnight.
“From the size of the droppings and the teeth marks, I would say they are roof rats,” one of them said. “They will eat grains, vegetables and fruits.”
A few others offered several tips for confirming the problem before calling pest control.
“Pay close attention to the areas under the sinks where the water pipes exit,” one woman noted.
‘Check all doors, especially if you have access from the laundry room to the outside and the garage door to make sure they are weather-stripped and properly sealed.
The mother found excrement in her sink.
“Remove all food and place it in sealed containers or in the refrigerator.”
Another said: ‘Check for small entry points around pipe penetrations, check the entire kitchen for droppings under the sink or pantry area.
‘Baited traps or snares should help. Repair entry points after no more droppings are seen for one week.
While many claimed that using baits and traps would solve the problem, it was best to consult pest control to avoid secondary poisoning.
