Harry Kane showed off his German while starring in an Audi advert alongside his Bayern Munich teammates Thomas Muller and Mathys Tel.
The Bundesliga’s top scorer took time off the field to film the advertisement for the German manufacturer and official partner of the club.
Kane can be seen behind the wheel as Mueller, in the passenger seat, asks, “Harry, where are we going?”
“Umleitung,” replies the England captain as he rounds a corner before repeating the German word for detour, before another maneuver through the Bavarian streets.
It is at this point that young Tel, sitting in the back of the Audi Q6 e-tron, becomes concerned and asks Muller if Kane is serious.

The commercial focused on the England international’s understanding of the word ‘Umleitung’.
Müller’s performance was especially well received by fans on social media.
‘Harry, you know that ‘Umleitung’ isn’t a place, right?’ Muller says, to which Kane replies: ‘Thomas, I know. I’m just getting to know my new home.’
There’s another moment of levity at the end of the ad when Muller quips: “next destination, ‘Einbahnstrasse’, which means ‘one-way street’.” Kane tries to repeat after the native speaker and almost bursts out laughing.
The 31-year-old should feel comfortable driving the vehicle, considering he chose a black Q8 e-tron, with prices in that range starting at £58,000, shortly after signing for Bayern.
Team members must drive their company vehicles to training, matches and events in the car, according to Bayern policy.
Leroy Sane, Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Muller were among 12 Bayern players who selected the Audi RS e-tron GT, which starts at almost £120,000, in August.
Leon Goretzka also chose an RS e-tron GT, but his was purple instead of black.
Kane insisted that he knew what the word was and was instead just interested in seeing his new surroundings.
The 31-year-old almost burst out laughing at the end of the advert after another mockery from Müller.

‘I’ve already tried [driving in Germany]”But of course not with the new car,” Kane told BILD last summer. ‘Little by little I will get used to the steering wheel being on the other side. So far I haven’t had any falls, that’s a positive thing.”
Audi has sponsored Bayern since 2002 and funds the German giants with £43m a year.
Kane’s performance earned praise from fans on social media, although the real star of the show was Muller. One user on X, formerly Twitter, wrote: “Few decent assists from Thomas Mueller, as always.”
Another said: “Müller can act too, wow!” Meanwhile, criticizing Kane, a third commented: “Does a BAFTA count as a major trophy?”
On an individual level, Kane’s debut season in Germany has been a resounding success. He has scored 39 goals in 39 games and has also provided 12 assists.
Fans on social media shared their thoughts on the announcement, including the performances of Bayern’s stars.
Kane took his goalscoring tally in all competitions this season to 39 during the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal at the Emirates.
But despite their incredible numbers, Bayern lost the Bundesliga title for the first time in 12 years, were eliminated from the German Cup by a lower division team and face the difficult task of winning the Champions League.
Kane and company will contest the second leg of their quarter-final on Wednesday night, having drawn 2-2 in north London last week. If they beat Mikel Arteta’s team, a semi-final against Real Madrid or Manchester City awaits them.
