Having shared the news on Instagram in a series of videos on Tuesday, he released The End on the same day and revealed to fans that a new album is on the way.
“Simply put, I’m lucky to be alive,” she wrote in the caption. “Simply put, I wrote an album.”
While her exact diagnosis was not immediately clear, she tagged both the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Lupus Research Alliance in her post.
Fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to document how they felt after the release of such a moving and thoughtful tune, writing: ‘Oh Halsey. Thank you for sharing, I’m a puddle of tears, but I send you love.’

The new album on the horizon is a follow-up to their fourth studio album, 2021’s ambitious. If I can’t have love, I want to be able to produced by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails.
According to a press release, Halsey is making a donation to both The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Lupus Research Alliance in conjunction with the release of The End.

‘I feel like an old woman,’ Halsey says out loud in the first of her videos shared on Instagram, while rubbing her legs in apparent pain. ‘I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick.
“At 30, I’m having a rebirth and I won’t be sick and I’ll look super sexy and I’ll have a lot of energy and I’ll be able to do my 20s again when I’m 30.”
In a second clip, the star could be seen inside a hospital while hooked up to a machine.
While filming a quick selfie video, the music artist informed her fans and followers, “Today is the first day of treatment.” She turned the camera to the machine and then back to herself as she rested in a chair.
The star also included a short clip while inside a studio while apparently recording her new single, The End. Throughout the excerpt, she strummed notes on a guitar while singing some of the lyrics.
A brief montage of her health battle, including her breaking down in tears and receiving treatment, was also candidly shared with her fans.
Other moments included the singer listening to music, her arm hooked up to an IV, and the mother-of-one positively giving a thumbs up to the camera.
