Ann Summers has seen a rise in sales as it capitalizes on store openings.

The lingerie retailer posted sales of £105m in the year to July 2023, an increase of almost 5 per cent on the £100m it made the previous year.

The company, which sells toys and accessories for adults, made profits of £62m, up from £60m the previous year.

Ann Summers is renovating its stores to attract more shoppers.

The lingerie brand (which has famous brand ambassadors such as model Maura Higgins, pictured) opened four stores over the past year and plans to open more over the next year.

And despite increasing its online presence since the pandemic, it said its 86 stores remain the most profitable part of its business.

The company noted strong demand in the run-up to Halloween, but said the cost-of-living crisis had hit consumers.
