Gwyneth Paltrow has opened the lid on her morning wellness and beauty routine, which covers everything from transcendental meditation with husband Brad Falchuk to slathering on her favorite Goop skincare products.
The 48-year-old lifestyle guru gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at her bathroom as she outlined her typical morning in a new video for Fashion, explaining that she believes that “beauty and well-being are inseparable.”
Gwyneth said she usually starts the day with a healthy smoothie to make sure she has ‘a little bit of protein’ for her morning workout.

Time to Exfoliate: The founder of Goop loves to dry brush her entire body to improve ‘circulation and exfoliation’
“This one has some nut milk and almond butter and some good quality protein powder,” she remarked, holding her glass up in front of the camera.
The actress then demonstrated how to dry brush her entire body with her Goop Beauty G.Tox Ultimate Dry Brush ($ 20), although she didn’t mention the name of the brand.
“You just want a dry brush that’s a little bit resistant and not too soft,” she said. “Basically what you do is start with your toes and gently brush your skin all the way through the body and always towards the heart.”
She explained that it helps with “circulation and exfoliation, among other benefits.”
Gwyneth said she follows up on her dry brushing with meditation and calls it one of the “most critical parts” of her morning routine. She and her husband Brad, 50, practice transcendental meditation together.

“ It’s a really nice way to start the day, just centered and let the mind empty a little bit, ” she said.
When it came time to start her skincare routine, she used her GOOPGLOW Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator ($ 125) and insisted she ‘can’t live without it.’
“I’m a huge exfoliating junkie,” she admitted.
After her skin was exfoliated, she applied Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum ($ 185) saying it’s an ‘incredible serum’.
‘It’s incredible to know that there are clean, non-toxic products that are really effective and really work wonders on your skin,’ she added.
Gwyneth said whenever she has a special occasion (or is fighting a hangover) she uses Jillian Dempsey Hydrating Eye Masks ($ 75).

‘Sometimes I walk around the house with this. My kids laugh at me, ”she admitted. “What else is new.”
Wearing her eye masks, she slid the Jillian Dempsey Gold Sculpting Bar ($ 195) over her skin.
“It’s vibrating – don’t get ideas,” she joked suggestively.
Gwyneth is known for her commitment to health and wellness, but she insisted she didn’t like skincare as much where she was younger.
“I wasn’t one to have ever had a skincare routine as a teenager,” she said. ‘My daughter [Apple] yes, but I was really a tomboy. So this skincare product didn’t come to mind until later in my life. ‘

Moisturizer is a big part of Gwyneth’s skincare routine and she recommended Weleda Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream ($ 18.99) for those looking for an affordable drugstore brand that is ‘clean’ and ‘non-toxic’ .
The mother of two followed up the moisturizer with Unsun Mineral Tinted Face Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 ($ 29), noting that conventional sunscreens contain ‘harsh chemicals’.
“I’m not a head to toe sunscreen,” she said. “I like to put something on my nose and the area where the sun really shines.”

“ One thing I really learned when I was well into my 40s is how important it is to take good care of your skin from within, ” she said. “That means hydrating, exercising, breathing fresh air, walking, eating foods with a high nutrient density.”

That girl is just on fire with her routine. I don’t know where she got it. She definitely didn’t get it from me. I can barely apply concealer, ”she joked.
