Guzmán y Gómez has announced the return of a fan-favorite dish after it was removed from the menu last year.
The Mexican-themed fast food chain announced Monday that it would once again offer shredded shiitake mushrooms at its Australian restaurants.
Customers were outraged when the vegetarian option was removed last December and expressed their frustration on social media.
A petition was also launched urging Guzman and Gomez to bring back the food option.
“Give me back my shredded mushroom burrito bowl. I’d sell my kidney to get it back,” one wrote.
“Bring back the mushroom stuffing. It’s the only thing I order and I order it every week,” said another.
A third added: “I don’t know who decided to take shredded mushrooms off the menu, but I hope your pillow is warm on both sides!”
The chain has listened to the feedback and has not only revived the popular menu item, but is also launching shredded shiitake mushroom tacos.
