Grayson Murray was seen saying that he is not ashamed of his anxiety and depression in a resurfaced video from 2023.

On Saturday afternoon, the golf world was shocked by the death of Murray at the age of 30. His death came about 24 hours after he withdrew toward the end of his second round at the Charles Schwab Challenge in Texas.

As tributes continue to flood social media, Korn Ferry Tour social media posted a video of Murray addressing mental health after winning the AdventHealth Championship on May 21, 2023.

“My parents have been through hell and back with me, basically for the last six years, battling some mental issues,” he says in the interview. ‘It’s not easy for me or for the people who love me and surround me. They don’t like to see me down.

“Everyone has their battles,” Murray added. “Sometimes people can hide them and it works, and sometimes you can’t.”

Furthermore, Murray expressed gratitude towards today’s society for removing the negative stigma of addressing mental struggles.

“And I’m not ashamed of going through depression (and) anxiety,” she said. ‘I know I have helped people in the past, simply through my direct messages on social media. “People message me and I think that’s part of (how) I can use my platform to continue to help with things like that.”

Prior to the video, another significant piece remembering Murray’s life resurfaced when a photo of him and Jordan Spieth from 2010 circulated on X.
