A Missouri math teacher admitted to having sex with a student after being arrested when police obtained photographs of scratches she left on his back.
Hailey Clifton-Carmack, 26, pleaded guilty Friday to sexual contact with a student in exchange for having other charges, including statutory rape, child sexual abuse and child endangerment, dropped, according to a statement. CGRC.
She faces up to four years in prison and will be under house arrest until she is sentenced on October 11.
The teacher was arrested after police were informed of the relationship between Clifton-Carmack and the student after a classmate came forward and showed photos of the teenager’s scratches.
The teen’s father, Mark Creighton, is accused of knowing about the relationship but failing to report it and has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Pulaski County Prosecutor Kevin S. Hillman said People that his case is “on hold” until the teacher is sentenced “since he agreed to help the State and testify if necessary.”
Clifton-Carmack was arrested by the Garden Ridge Police Department in early January in Comal County, Texas.
But the sexual conduct took place in Pulaski County, Missouri, about 800 miles from where she was arrested by police.
Court documents indicate the teen and the teacher had sex during school while using other students as “lookouts,” according to CGRC.
According to court records, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department was contacted by Laquey’s school resource officer who reported the relationship to police.

Clifton-Carmack will remain under house arrest until his sentencing scheduled for Oct. 11.

The teen said the scratches were from Clifton-Carmack after he had sex with the teacher in the classmate’s driveway.
Clifton-Carmack, who has two young daughters, was recently divorced after being married to Chance Carmack, an amateur mixed martial arts fighter who had completed basic training in the US Army.
Detectives visited the school district on Dec. 8 to speak with the teacher and took her phone away, but until police obtained a warrant to unlock it, they were unable to see any incriminating messages.
At the time, Clifton-Carmack denied having any relationship with any students outside of school.
According to court documents, Clifton-Carmack frequently wore “tight or low-cut tops” and tight leggings that “showed off her body.”

After obtaining a warrant, police found text messages related to the alleged relationship with the 16-year-old.
The student who came forward to report the relationship said the teacher is “too friendly with students and sometimes dresses inappropriately at school.”
According to court documents, Clifton-Carmack would often wear “tight or low-cut tops” to show off her “headlights.”
She also wore tight leggings that “showed off her body” and was often reprimanded by the school administration for being “too close to the students.”
