A pulsating day of twists and transfer drama yesterday saw Ronaldo move to City instead, only for United to drop in and finalize a deal with Juventus.
And after the club officially announced their former superstar’s comeback, Neville gave his assessment of the move and what type of player Ronaldo is now.

Marcel told air sports: ‘He will play regularly (Ronaldo), he will play as a No 9.
“He will play as a striker, I’m sure they will put legs in and around him, he will score goals.
And Cristiano Ronaldo will come to win trophies, win personal awards, set the Premier League on fire. It’s a different Ronaldo, everyone expected that.

“But he’s a number 9, he’s a striker, he’s someone who honestly still has those bursts of speed over short spaces that can cause problems.
“He makes great runs in the penalty area, he anticipates where the ball is going to fall.”

Neville believes the sensational new addition to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s ranks will give them a significant boost, saying they can now compete for the title.
“So in terms of what he’s giving Manchester United, it’s just giving them something they need at the moment,” Neville added.
