Victims of a prisoner who was filmed allegedly having sex with a female guard have criticised reports he will not face further punishment, saying “this is not what we thought hard time in prison meant”.

Linton Weirich, 36, from west London, was seen in a clip filmed with a contraband phone apparently having sex with prison officer Linda De Sousa Abreu at HMP Wandsworth.

The incident involving the prolific thief, who is currently serving a four-year and nine-month sentence, led to a police investigation with De Sousa Abreu, 30, who is married, accused of misconduct in public office.

The fraudster, who was jailed after stealing £65,000 worth of goods from a safe in a luxury flat in Kensington, has been placed in solitary confinement but is unlikely to face further punishment and is not under police investigation.

One victim who was targeted by Weirich in January said: “I was aware of the video. I just didn’t know he was our robber. This whole thing seems surreal. This is not what we thought a bad time in prison was like.”

“It seems that the prison officer is the only one being punished as well.”

Weirich had broken into the woman’s home while she was doing construction work, but only managed to steal a few drills before being arrested.

The officers caught him because of the tag he was wearing on his ankle, the woman said, adding: “I don’t think he’s the smartest guy in the world.”

Another of his victims who said Weirich had stolen her bike in December, said Sun“He’s definitely not the smartest guy if he was just targeting everyone who was at his door.

“I understand why the police managed to catch him. However, it is not justice if he is having fun in prison.”

This comes after MailOnline revealed Weirich’s partner is seven months pregnant and went to hospital after becoming stressed over fears she might go into premature labour.

A source close to her said: “This is the last thing she needs in her condition, it is extremely upsetting. This stupid video has affected her health, she was hospitalised over the weekend for stress. She fears this will cause her to go into premature labour.”

Weirich was jailed for four and a half years for burglary and theft at Kingston Crown Court on June 7.
