A freediving duo has set a Guinness world record for the longest underwater dance without oxygen after having played in the deepest pool in the world for more than three minutes.

Marina Kazankova and Dmitry Malasenko performed the dance of three minutes and 28 seconds with one breath.

The dance was confirmed as the longest of its kind when the pair performed in the Y-40 pool, known as the deepest in the world in Padova, Italy.

The eclectic version included a swordfight and flamenco-inspired moves in which Marina wore a beautiful burnt orange dress for the execution.

The artists slipped and pirouettes around the pool and enchanted the audience that could watch the show from an underwater tunnel that ran through the center of the pool.

To make the stunt even more impressive, the duo managed to cram into a part of the dance where they played on a tight rope.

Marina said: "Y-40 was full of free divers, divers in the water and public in the tunnel and looked through the huge windows to see the show.

& # 39; We were very emotional and happy to see so many viewers everywhere.

& # 39; We have gone through a lot of psychological preparation to relax and slow the heartbeat.

& # 39; To make the show even more spectacular, we decided not to dance on the dance floor on the dance floor.

& # 39; It is not so easy to keep the balance on the rope under water. & # 39;

The show was planned in great detail, with the coral dress that Marina wore, designed to give a smooth effect when worn under water, while the music ran synchronously with the movements and writing.

Marina said: & # 39; It was not only a dance, but also a play with a script and music specially written for it by the music group Omura.

& # 39; Two hooded thieves try to steal the magic gem hidden under water, so they have a sword fight with each other.

& # 39; Here the two former opponents start a romantic dance, to show people that free diving is not an extreme sport for champions, but a wonderful way to express ourselves, to feel us in peace and love for the universe . & # 39;

But it is not the first time that the couple goes into the water.

The artist and the freediver duo completed the dance without oxygen for three minutes and floated freely through the water.
