An urgent search is underway for a group of up to seven youths after a boy was stabbed outside a secondary school.

Emergency services were called to City Vista Court in Fraser Rise, in Melbourne’s northwest, at around 3.10pm on Thursday following reports a teenager had been stabbed while waiting at a bus stop.

The 16-year-old was rushed to Occidental Hospital suffering from an arm injury.

The child’s condition is unknown.

Police believe the boy was attacked at a bus stop by a group of up to seven men armed with machetes in what is understood to be a targeted attack.

Disturbing images obtained by Nine news It shows a group of men dressed in black with hoodies and face coverings and armed with what appear to be machetes.

The group is believed to have fled the scene in a black Honda sedan after the stabbing.

Police cordoned off the street on Thursday afternoon as forensic officers searched the scene for evidence.

The incident shocked residents on the street, who were ordered by police to stay indoors.

“I have a young family so this was very worrying for me,” Steve told Nine News.

“It looked pretty serious. The police were everywhere and the whole neighborhood was closed off.”
