NRL teams may have returned to pre-season, but Cronulla star Nicho Hynes still found time for a cheeky getaway with his new girlfriend recently.
Hynes and his new love, Piper Wallis, traveled to the award-winning Qualia resort on Hamilton Island in Queensland’s Whitsundays for some rest and fun before Christmas.
Piper shared a video montage on Instagram of her trip, posting “dream weekend at Qualia Resort.”
The montage began with footage on the plane to the right of Hynes taking a nap, with Piper filming him and jokingly saying “silly face” in the caption.
The couple then shared snaps of the spectacular blue ocean and tropical oasis they were staying at, along with some loved-up moments to wrap it all up.
“Amazing days at Qualia Resort, we will be back,” Hynes posted.

The NRL star then also took a cheeky swipe at his girlfriend, captioning his video with “the advertising specialist has done well here” and a laughing emoji.
The University of Technology Sydney graduate recently started a new job as a business manager at DDB Group Australia, according to her LinkedIn profile.
‘Well, this sounds like a horrible vacation. You guys are the cutest!! Well deserved rest and free time for you together,’ commented one of Piper’s followers.
‘Hamo is a place that remains in your heart forever after you go. “I’ve been 5 times and I never get tired,” added another.
Hynes was first linked to Piper in September when she was spotted sitting at a Cronulla Sharks game with her mother Julie.
The 28-year-old was then seen enjoying brunch with Piper and their relationship was confirmed.
Hynes has been single for most of his professional playing career and has been very secretive about his personal life, with the exception of his family.
But she’s happy to share pictures and videos with her new love, including their latest tropical getaway.
Hynes will hope for a little more luck in the 2025 NRL season after injuries and form disrupted his 2024 campaign.
Hynes and the Cronulla Sharks will head to Las Vegas for the NRL season opener next year.
The star five-eighth will look to bounce back in 2025 after an indifferent season in which he was dropped at halfback for the New South Wales State of Origin and his NRL team crashed out in the preliminary final to eventual champions Penrith Panthers.
He also spent large periods of the season battling injuries and will be looking for an uninterrupted preseason to set the stage for a big season in 2025.
The Sharks will have an early chance to exact revenge on the Panthers, with the two teams meeting in the first game of the NRL season in Las Vegas.
The Canberra Raiders will take on the New Zealand Warriors in the NRL double-header, while Super League sides Warrington and Wigan will also do battle at Allegiant Stadium alongside the Australian Jillaroos and the England women’s team.
