Kayla first completed a round of straight-legged razors by lying on her back and raising her hands and legs up straight. Many often arch their lower back when performing the exercise
The video is split in two horizontally to show the common mistake at the top with the correct shape at the bottom.
Kayla first completed a round of straight-legged razors by lying on her back and raising her hands and legs up straight.
When performing this exercise, many often arch their lower back, which is unnecessary and can strain the back.
She then completed a half-jack and said many are in the habit of not using their core muscles by bending the back outward.
In the video, she also showed how to properly make a side plank (left) and belly bikes (right)
When performing a side plank, Kayla said it is essential to make sure the shoulder and elbow are in line to perform the exercise correctly.
Reducing reach and movement while cycling or not turning the torso enough during movement is another common fitness mistake.
The last exercise Kayla demonstrated was the mountaineer, which is best done with a straight back and eyes that face the ground instead of the toes.
“As a personal trainer, I always stress that you should strive for quality over quantity, from burpees to planks and belly bikes,” she said.

Snack: Rye crispbread with cheese and tomato
Supper: Sweet potato and black bean enchilada
After sharing the video on social media, the post was viewed more than half a million times and many were unaware of the mistakes they made while exercising.
‘Ohh, so I’m doing them all wrong,’ wrote one woman, another added, ‘Thank you! I did the side plank wrong. ‘
Many others thanked Kayla for sharing the helpful insight that will help prevent injuries and improve overall fitness.
