Lamar Jackson missed practice for the second straight day with the Baltimore Ravens due to back and knee problems.
The quarterback was absent Wednesday, but coach John Harbaugh implied he wasn’t a major concern for the team.
But now, with Jackson absent for the second straight practice session, fears inevitably begin to grow.
The Ravens surprisingly lost last weekend to the Cleveland Browns, falling to 5-3 on the season. This weekend they face the Denver Broncos.
Jackson is off to perhaps the best start of his career, with a passer rating of 115.4.
Lamar Jackson has missed Baltimore Ravens practice for the second day in a row
He has thrown for 2,099 yards and 17 touchdowns with just two interceptions. He also has 501 rushing yards.
Last season, the Ravens lost the AFC Championship game to the eventual Super Bowl winners, the Kansas City Chiefs.
But this season, with Jackson boosted by the arrival of running back Derrick Henry, the Ravens have been many people’s choice to go all the way this time.
Speaking after Sunday’s loss, Jackson said: “This is the NFL. Any given Sunday a team can be good. We just have to play better everywhere.
‘We didn’t make the plays. “We didn’t make the necessary decisions to win the game, we left a lot of opportunities out there.”
