The FBI has launched an investigation into whether maggots were deliberately introduced into the breakfasts of delegates at the Democratic National Convention.
Police swarmed the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Chicago on Wednesday after receiving reports of a bug attack.
Indiana Delegate Tracy Boyd said WGNTV: ‘They protected us, of course, and turned the situation around in a matter of minutes’
He said his group was notified that breakfast service would be briefly delayed due to the incident.
“I really want to thank the hotel staff and leadership,” he added.
“All Americans have the right to peacefully protest, but such disgusting attacks have no place in our democracy,” Indiana Democratic Party spokesman Sam Barloga said. “We thank the security team for responding quickly.”
