A father of four children killed in a suspected murder-suicide has labeled his ex-partner as & # 39; bad & # 39; and & # 39; selfish & # 39 ;.
Aaleyn, 6, Matilda, 5, Wyatt, 4 and Zaidok, 2, were killed when their mother's car collided on May 27 with a truck on the Bunya Highway near Kumbia in Queensland – three hours from the family home.
The fatal crash was treated as a tragic accident until the police found a note near the scene, causing the investigators to believe that Charmaine McLeod had intentionally caused the collision.
James McLeod, who divorced McLeod two years ago, said he & # 39; nothing & # 39; has left after the children he & # 39; lived for & & # 39; were taken away.

& # 39; I'm just completely upset that someone they trusted and loved could do it & # 39 ;, McLeod said Nine news.
& # 39; To be let down like that and have my children return to me in urns is simply the worst feeling I have ever endured. & # 39;
The couple had spent their divorce bickering about who the children should live with and Mr. McLeod rarely saw the children.
& # 39; I don't know why she did this. It's just a selfish, meaningless act, "he said.
The sorrowful father said that he knows his children are going crazy in heaven and that he will rejoin them if his timing is right.
McLeod believes that the death of his children was preventable and hopes that things will change in the future to prevent other tragedies.

He told you before The courier post: & # 39; I always knew she would do something like that for the kids. I have let judges know, I have let lawyers know, I have let DOCS (the Ministry of Child Safety) know that I have let the police know.
& # 39; They've all turned a blind eye. All this could have been prevented if they did something. (I've told them for years). & # 39;
McLeod called his ex-partner & # 39; a lying, revengeful, evil, annoying person & # 39 ;.
President McLeod told Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday that he & # 39; lost & # 39; has gone in the weeks following the tragedy.
Mr. McLeod has yet to receive a full autopsy report, which will determine the cause of his children's deaths, but says that the police bringing the detectives to the case told him what had happened.
& # 39; They were everything I lived for. Now I just have nothing, & McLeod told Nine News
Charmaine McLeod (center) had caught up with a truck shortly before she hit the path of a second truck, with the resulting crash that killed her and the kids
& # 39; It's a murder case, & # 39; he said. & # 39; Anyone can put two and two together and see what that means. & # 39;
McLeod says that as the weeks go by, the idea that his children are gone is no easier to process.
& # 39; I am lost, I miss my baby & # 39; s & # 39 ;, he said.
& # 39; I am angry with the system because I am not protecting them … there is a big hole in my heart where they used to be. & # 39;
The children were buried earlier this month, separated from their mother.
Although there is still no official sequence of events prior to the crash, a truck driver named Mark said he was behind McLeod's car at the time of the crash.
He said she had not caught up with him, as was first thought, when she was on the path of an oncoming truck.
The police brought murder investigators to the case after finding a note nearby, and Mr. McLeod says that & # 39; anyone & # 39; could see that McLeod had killed the children
& # 39; I was right behind her and although I will not discuss anything I saw with anyone other than the investigator in charge, I am not letting this family think that she has overtaken me dangerously. She didn't do it. Fact, & # 39; the driver wrote on social media.
He said McLeod had caught up with him some distance back, without incident. although he would not go into detail about what he subsequently saw.
& # 39; It's just not right for the families going through hell to spend the rest of their lives with the idea that those children died because their mother seemed dangerous, & he said.
& # 39; I can't talk about the impact that lies ahead, but I can say she caught up with me very safely.
& # 39; What happened to me a few dozen meters later is up to the experts to determine. & # 39;
The grieving father-of-four said the series of events described by the driver & # 39; nicely on point & # 39; used to be.
Hundreds of mourners, including young friends of the deceased children, attended a moving funeral service for the children in the Urraween crematorium on the Fraser coast earlier this month.
The father of the children spent time alone with the crates before the service began, and outside the crematorium, mourners blew bells and were invited to make thumbprints on a cloth to form leaves on a tree.
