Predictions are wonderful this time of year, even if many of them are destined to end up in the trash bin. Let’s dust off the crystal ball and today we’ll give you some of the end-of-season headlines:

The best value for money in fantasy:Jayden Daniels, QB, Commanders

Imagine someone with Anthony Richardson’s potential as a running back and the potential of a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback. That’s Daniels. There’s a questionable offensive line to deal with in Washington, but Daniels’ mobility will mitigate some of that. Wide receiver Terry McLaurin is also primed for a career year.

Both the Panthers and Seahawks received coaching upgrades at the perfect time: Coach Dave Canales arrived in Carolina, while draft pick Ryan Grubb is Seattle’s new offensive coordinator. Young was destined to fail in his rookie year (Canales, the NFL’s Winston Wolf, can fix that), while JSN’s first year was mostly an injury disaster (both for him and his offensive teammates). I’m not going to assume every scout was totally wrong about him.

The best boring value from a still young player:Trevor Lawrence, quarterback, Jaguars

Lawrence may not have been Peyton Manning 2.0 as he was touted, but he hasn’t done much wrong as a pro either. His rookie year failure was largely due to Urban Meyer’s mistaken hiring not allowing him to coach in the NFL. Since then, Lawrence has made his mark as QB7 and QB12And if rookie receiver Brian Thomas Jr. performs as expected, the Jaguars should have a fun, dynamic offense in 2024. Lawrence turns 25 in October and is still on the rise.

All-Star Load Management:Travis Kelce, TE, Chiefs

Kansas City was careful in using its world-class tight end during last year’s regular season, then unleashed his fury during the playoff run (Kelce posted A ridiculous line 32-355-3 (In the tournament, Kelce is now entering his age-35 season, so expect more of the same. The Chiefs should win their division easily, and the wide receiver room has recently been repainted, so Kelce doesn’t have to shoulder a heavy workload. The Chiefs are basically the NFL’s version of the Dodgers, a team that’s already planning for the playoffs on Opening Day. I can’t wait to use Kelce in my playoff contests, but I haven’t proactively drafted him all summer.

Check out the New England calendar, And tell me where the wins are. Every underdog team ends up with an upset here or there, but this list is a meat grinder. And remember, we’re talking about a team with an unproven coaching staff, a spotty offensive line, an eventual rookie quarterback, and a defense that just traded its best player. The over-under is 4.5 wins, but they might not get there. The Patriots will also be a constant target in survivor leagues.
