Fans flocked to social media to ridicule Emerson Royal after his humiliating no-look pass failed during Tottenham’s 1-1 draw against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Footage shows the Brazilian attempting a through ball to Bryan Gil while looking away from his teammate, causing the skipped pass to go behind a goal kick.
The 1-1 draw was not enough for Tottenham to advance to the knockout stages of the Champions League, and now the group leaders must win their last game against Marseille to secure their place in the last 16.

One fan posted on Twitter: ‘I’ve seen some crazy things in my life, but seeing Emerson Royal attempt a no-look pass going straight off the pitch has to be the worst.’
Another responded by tweeting: “I laughed out loud making my coffee this morning thinking about that Emerson Royal no-look pass. I can’t believe he tried… and was wrong! Unbelievable.’
A third said: ‘Emerson Royal and his nice pass without looking… then the ball grazed out. He’s not the one… absolute crap.”

Tottenham strengthened as right-back this summer by signing former Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence for £12.5million to join Royal and Matt Doherty in the position.
The 22-year-old has yet to start one game for Spurs this season so far, earning three substitute appearances from the bench in the Premier League.
Conte’s side travel to Bournemouth on Saturday for next week’s crucial Champions League clash against Marseille.
