Jonathan Owens admitted on the most recent episode of ‘Hard Knocks’ that he couldn’t wait to try French fries while on vacation to watch his wife Simone Biles compete in the Olympics.
Well, in France they would simply call them French fries or frites. Fans made fun of this strange food desire online.
Owens admitted he wanted fries when he said the first thing he did when he got off the plane in France was order a burger and fries.
Owens did not limit himself to classic American fare with products from abroad. The now Chicago Bear also complemented croissants, fruit and crepes from the country.
The defender seemed to enjoy his time in Paris because of his food when he wasn’t watching Biles win four medals.

Owens was allowed to be in Paris thanks to a special clause in his contract with the Bears.

However, the name of the food leads most to believe its roots are in France, including Owens.
Owens’ teammate, Elijah Hicks, also told Biles’ husband that she needs to learn how to do a celebratory flip.
With Owens present, Biles won three gold medals in Paris.
