- Jeff Nippard needed a CT scan after the incident, which came back clear
Fans rushed to defend Jeff Nippard after viral footage emerged of a seemingly unexpected attack by fellow bodybuilder Mike Van Wyck.
The shocking clip shows Van Wyck approaching Nippard and grabbing him by the neck before violently throwing him to the floor of a gym.
Nippard then took to social media to reveal that he had undergone a CT scan which had come back completely clear, adding that he had no idea why he had been attacked.
“I don’t know why he attacked me other than he really hates my training style,” he wrote. ‘I certainly didn’t give him any reason to hate me. And even if you did, there’s no excuse for physically attacking someone over a disagreement.’
And many fans and followers in the fitness industry quickly rallied behind Nippard.

Nippard needed a CT scan, but told his followers on social media that all the results were clear.
“Jeff Nippard is one of the nicest, if not THE nicest guys in the bodybuilding world,” said one fan. ‘He is incredibly talented, SMART and NOT driven by ego.
Provides great online services to remind and teach people about THEIR superpowers. What Mike Van Wyck did was cowardly’
Another point of view said: “There are almost no influencers on the internet that I will work for, but Jeff Nippard is an absolute gem of the fitness community and I have learned a lot from the resources he offers and in every way he is a great guy”. So no, let’s go for this one.
Another fan posted: “What could Jeff Nippard have done to get attacked… (Van Wyck)? He clearly didn’t agree with his training.”
One fan said Van Wyck lost him as a fan in light of the video surfacing, saying, “Damn, big Jeff Nippard fan.” All training style videos/disagreements.
‘He’s a big fan of the podcast Mike is on, but this makes me sick. It’s hard to hear it now.
Nippard suggested that Van Wyck might have had a problem with his science-based training methods.
Van Wyck had recently posted his own video questioning bodybuilders who follow methods like Nippard’s, to which he responded by highlighting why he follows those methods.
So far, Van Wyck has not commented on the incident that has gone viral on social media.
But fans have supported Nippard in large numbers after the shocking scenes.
Nippard said: ‘My view is that it was a result of anger provoked by the clip I posted yesterday answering your question about science-based training. Something pretty wild.
Nippard also claimed that Van Wyck also threatened his cameraman.
‘In case you haven’t seen it, this is exactly what happened and there were many witnesses.
‘Mike Van Wyck punched me in the throat twice in the middle of the gym and then pushed my cameraman.
‘There’s already a lie out there that Mike asked me to stay away from him, and that I didn’t listen and approach him first. This is FALSE and @puremuscleandfitness has security footage to prove it. I think they should release him.’
So far, Van Wyck has not commented on the incident.
