A fan who was left bloodied after being hit by Travis Kelce’s golf ball at a celebrity golf tournament this month admitted she nearly “passed out” after speaking out about the incident.

Katie Hauss, 37, was enjoying a day at the American Century Championships in Lake Tahoe when she took a stray shot from Kelce to the head, leaving her “bloody” and in need of medical attention.

Footage showed the three-time Super Bowl winner comforting her as she received treatment on the field, before she was able to get back on her feet and walk off the field accompanied by staff.

And in an interview with PEOPLEHauss spoke openly about her ordeal and how it all unfolded that day at Lake Tahoe.

“When I put my hand on the back of my neck there was a lot of blood,” he said. ‘When I got hit, I felt pain immediately. I was just trying to concentrate on not passing out, and at the time I didn’t really know what had happened.

‘Then I heard people start screaming and yelling that it was Travis Kelce’s golf shot and ‘Oh my God, that girl just got hit in the head.’

‘I tried to stay calm and told my husband that I thought I was fine, but I was in a lot of pain. When I put my hand to my head, there was a lot of blood. I knelt down to try to get my bearings and then a good Samaritan (must have been a doctor or a first aider) came over and immediately put pressure on my head wound.

“He told me to stay still and that they were calling EMS. I am so grateful to that man for helping me, a complete stranger, and I wish I could thank him for his kindness.”
