A young woman who was seriously injured after being hit by a car while crossing the street with her mother has made a miraculous recovery.

The girl, whose age has not been confirmed, was holding her mother’s hand as they crossed a zebra crossing at Fairfield Gardens, a shopping center in Brisbane’s south, about 1.10pm on Thursday when she was hit by an SUV. Mercedes GLE400.

On Saturday, her mother shared an update about her daughter’s health on Facebook and thanked the local community for their concern and support.

“He is doing well and fortunately he has not suffered any serious injuries and we expect him to be released from the hospital in a day or two,” his mother wrote.

Witnesses could be seen supporting her mother as she tried to keep her daughter calm while waiting for ambulance crews, including high acuity and intensive care units, to arrive on scene.
