A mum was left scratching her head after finding a very strange ‘slimy’ object on her kitchen floor.

The Queensland woman saw a black “alien”-like object in her kitchen which she initially thought was a piece of rope.

However, upon closer inspection, he suspected the mysterious find might be a worm and asked for help identifying it.

Many shared their guesses with people suggesting it could be part of a rubber stamp, a piece of licorice, a shoelace and even a blind snake.

Most thought it was some type of flatworm that had accidentally found its way into their home.

A Queensland mother was shocked to find a mysterious object on her kitchen floor that looked like a “worm” or “alien”.

‘Does anyone have any idea what the hell this is?’ At first I thought it was a thread, but then the thread of a baby banana turned black,” she told Moms who clean.

‘Now I’m worried it’s a worm. I haven’t dared to touch it yet.

Members were quick to try to help by offering their suggestions on what it could be.

‘You have a pet? My cat occasionally brings in slugs or worms stuck to his fur,” said one mother.

“If you live in Qld it could be a blind snake, they are harmless but still scare you,” another wrote and a third replied: “Looks more like a leech to me.”

“It just looks like a piece of wet thread… it won’t hurt you to poke it or touch it with something,” someone added.

Other guesses included part of a rubber seal from an appliance, a shoelace or a piece of licorice string.

However, most said the object was probably a missing flatworm and assured the mother there was no need to worry.

‘It’s a garden flatworm. They are super beneficial for your garden and they like to eat the bad ones. Just find some wet leaves to put it in and it will be a good companion,” one woman explained.

‘It’s a flatworm, you’re fine, it doesn’t fit, it probably got into someone’s shoe. “They are harmless,” said a second.
