The round of 16 of Euro 2024 could be interrupted by strong storms in Germany this weekend.
The knockout phase will begin on Saturday with a showdown between Switzerland and Italy in Berlin, followed by a match between hosts Germany and Denmark in Dortmund.
On Sunday, England face Slovakia in Gelsenkirchen, before Spain take on Georgia in Cologne.
Of these matches, Dortmund is the one most likely to suffer a storm.
The Westfalenstadion also witnessed torrential rain during the Group F match between Turkey and Georgia on June 18, when water was seen falling violently from a gap in the roof of the Borussia Dortmund stadium.

The worst weather is likely to fall in Dortmund, where Germany plays Denmark.
Dortmund also had torrential rain during the Group F match between Türkiye and Georgia
Meteorologist Dominik Jung said BILD on Friday: ‘From Saturday afternoon until Sunday evening there is a risk of strong thunderstorms from the southwest and west to central Germany.
‘This could cause extremely heavy rain, with amounts of between 40 and 80 liters per square meter in a few hours.
«Large hail, about 3 cm in diameter, is also expected, as well as strong gusts of storms or hurricanes with speeds of between 100 and 140 km/h.
“Tornadoes cannot be ruled out either.”
The storm should not pass through Berlin completely. In fact, sunny skies are forecast for the opening match of the round of 16.

Light rain is forecast during the England match, while Spain-Georgia in Cologne should remain dry despite cloudy skies.
Although only one match is likely to be severely affected by the storm, fans and teams in Dortmund, Cologne, Bonn, Paderborn and Hannover are likely to get very wet on Saturday evening.
