Emma Roberts has been granted a permanent restraining order against a man who allegedly broke into her home and sent her a “strange” text message.
A judge has given the actress a five-year restraining order against Melvin Jeffery Conley, a 32-year-old man she says broke into her home while she was away and managed to contact her on her cell phone, according to TMZ.
The order, signed by the judge Thursday, also protects Rhodes’ three-year-old son, Robert Hedlund. She alleges that Conley said her son’s name, raising concerns about what the alleged harasser wanted from her.
Roberts, 33, met Conley for the first time in May.
He allegedly broke into her home in Los Angeles on May 7 or 8, when she was not present. The American Horror Story star alleges that he found her landline and called her cell phone from there.

The actress received a missed call from the number and returned it, assuming it was a family member. However, Conley allegedly responded.
The star claims Conley called her ‘Emma’ and told her he allowed her to come and stay in the house. She has denied it.
‘While still present at my residence, (Conley) used my landline to call my cell phone. “During the conversation, I realized that the person he was calling was a stranger and confirmed that he was still at my residence,” she said in court documents obtained by The explosion.
‘Although police were immediately contacted, (Conley) has evaded arrest and continues to send me disturbing text messages.
“I am constantly afraid and afraid to return to my own home.”
The actress also alleges that she received a “strange” text message from him.
Emma now fears that Conley will try to return to her house.
The order prohibits Conley from coming within 100 meters of the actress and her son. She is also prohibited from coming within 100 yards of her residence, her workplace and her child’s school.

Calabasas will be based on the book If You Lived Here You’d Be Famous by Via Bleidner.
Marlene will write the script adaptation in addition to serving as showrunner.
Calabasas will tell the story of a 16-year-old girl from the Midwest named Via, who transfers to Calabasas High after her family moves to California.
