Elyse Knowles represents Aussie Made Week despite constantly promoting Chinese products

Elyse Knowles is the face of the first-ever Australian Made Week campaign, urging Aussies to shop locally and support homegrown businesses.

The 28-year-old model excitedly announced the endorsement deal on Instagram earlier this week, telling her 878,000 followers, ‘Australian Made Week is HEREEE.’

She urged her fans to support local businesses and buy local products, but Elyse continues to spout products from China and other countries herself.

The Block winner seems to be less likely to promote items made Down Under than products made abroad, making her latest collaboration quite confusing.

Elyse was enthusiastic in front of a green-yellow truck with the recognizable ‘Australian made’ logo and urged her fans to buy locally.

“Every dollar you spend on products with the iconic Australian Made Kangaroo logo will be returned to our local makers and communities,” she wrote.

‘Australian buying supports local businesses and helps create Aussie jobs.’

She first announced the campaign in an Instagram video earlier this month, before spending the next few weeks promoting products overseas.

‘So go on, buy something real Aussie for Australian Made Week, because Australian made makes Australia’, she urged her in the video.

But while she signed a deal for Australian Made Week, which will run from May 24 to May 30, Elyse has a long history of promoting foreign brands.

Last week, she proudly promoted Klorane dry shampoo, which is made in France.

‘With a new baby and almost ZERO time a day for myself, it’s nice to know that I have a little gun at home that makes me feel refreshed, revitalized and clean! I rely on @ kloraneau dry shampoo for a comforting dose of self-care, ‘she wrote on Instagram.

According to the campaign’s website, Australian Made Week is an opportunity for Aussie shoppers to actively seek out and support local businesses.

“Australian Made Week will encourage shoppers to actively focus their buying efforts on genuine Aussie products, while celebrating and supporting local makers and growers across the country,” the website said.
