Eddie Hearn has guaranteed that the massive heavyweight showdown between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will continue despite Bob Arum’s reservations.
Fury’s co-promoter recently said he is skeptical about whether it will happen and blinded Hearn with his doubts.
“If I had to bet whether the fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua would take place or not, I would say no,” said the 90-year-old American. RingTV.

Eddie Hearn is adamant the fight will take place and could be announced next week
“Eddie’s desperate, he’s got another fight with AJ, and he wants it to be the fight against Fury. But if a fight against Tyson is postponed to winter, then AJ has to fight Oleksandr Usyk, and that’s not that big a fight. Eddie is a desperado here. ‘
A date and location for their fight is getting closer, with the latest reports claiming Saudi Arabia will pay a whopping £ 108 million to play host.
And Hearn has knocked back his rival promoter, telling the story talkSPORT: ‘I’m a little worried about Bob Arum.
‘I last communicated with Bob Arum last Thursday and Friday and he gave an interview last night to say he hasn’t heard from me in two weeks.
Five days ago, he said to everyone, ‘It’s done, it’s in Saudi Arabia, this is the deal, etc. It’s not as simple as just a 24-hour turnaround time of a long-term agreement for a fight of this magnitude .
Hearn said Arum’s doubts are unfounded and believes a deal is close
‘We should be partners in this fight. The only one I ever see working on this fight is me. And I will not stop until we fight.
So we’re about to stand. We have an agreement, we have a signed contract, we have a site agreement that has been accepted and now we are putting it into a long agreement and you will get an announcement next week. ‘
Hearn continued, “I don’t know if Bob is arousing and trying to put pressure on. He is 90 years old so you have to respect him.
‘I messaged him last night with the quote I saw as if he wanted to say,’ What is this all about? ‘
“He’s basically saying,” Well, you have to go faster. ” I said, “No, I’m moving as fast as I can.”
‘But it was actually all left to me. The whole thing. Everyone just set there saying, “Eddie has to hurry up, Eddie has to do this.”
Arum isn’t pulling his weight in organizing the heavyweight showdown, says Hearn
“We are supposed to be co-promoters in this fight. I am the only one who has traveled the world to make sure this fight takes place.
“And I promise you this fight will take place, I will make this fight take place.”
In terms of a time frame, Hearn added, ‘Bob Arum has never before handled a site deal as big as this one, leave it to me, hold on, we’ll get it done. I think if we don’t finish by the end of next week, we’ll have a problem.
“I think you’ll get an announcement next week, I will. I am a one-man army who wants to take this fight.
‘If you leave it to me, be quiet and wait for the contract to come in. It rises.
“Everyone agrees this fight is on and I can’t wait because Tyson Fury will be eliminated by Anthony Joshua.”
Fury took to Instagram on Wednesday to call out Anthony Joshua again; He boldly claimed he would stop in his corner if AJ went more than three rounds with him
Arum called Hearn a desperado and said Joshua has only one big fight left in him
Meanwhile, Fury has turned to social media to target his major domestic rival, saying, ‘While I’m up and down,’ he began to his 4.1 million followers, ‘I might as well shout one more person. A large, useless file. Not a real fighting man. A hype job. Bodybuild (er), crossfit, big, ugly s *** house. That’s Anthony Joshua.
“AJ, while you’re there, let’s make this fight happen, you big file. You big bastard dossier. I’m going to smash your face too, and there’s nothing you can do about it. Prove me wrong, fool. Prove me wrong. I’m number one, uno.
AJ if you go through three rounds with me I’ll stop in the corner ’cause that’s how confident I am [of] you get cold outside of the first two, three rounds. Off, look like a light switch. ‘
Fury confirmed earlier this week that the first of a two-fight contract with Joshua will take place in July, with the 24th and 31st both being touted as options earlier.
