An Ecuador fan is filmed in a furious brawl with a Qatari fan after mocking the country’s alleged bribery when told to “shut up and sit down” during the World Cup opening match, before the pair reconcile and insist that “passion can make people angry”.

An Ecuador supporter who attended the opening match of the World Cup in Qatar was involved in a momentary altercation with supporters of the host country inside the stadium on Sunday.
Qatar suffered defeat in their first World Cup match as Ecuador claimed a 2-0 victory in front of a packed crowd at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor.
Former Everton striker Enner Valencia scored twice in the first half to secure an important group, win for the South American side in Qatar.
But an Ecuador supporter who had traveled to the match received a swift reprimand from Qatar supporters seated near him as he celebrated his team’s success.
A video posted on Twitter shows the fan dressed in the yellow jersey of the Ecuadorian national team standing and singing in a crowd of what appear to be Qatar fans.
As the youthful-looking fan points and chants at the rival fans next to him attending the game, he finds himself on the receiving end of some irritated Qataris.

The video which has so far garnered over 20 million views on the social media platform appears to show the Ecuadorian fan ‘sit down and shut up’.
The knights and support comrades then try to defuse the situation by telling everyone to “calm down and relax”.
Efforts to try and defuse tensions appeared to have worked, as a follow-up video showed everyone in high spirits after the event.
The Ecuador supporter was sitting among the fans involved in the heated moment and told the camera that “sometimes passion makes people angry.”
He further added: “But we came together because of sport, sport unites people, we are very good friends with each other and I wish Qatar the best.”
“It’s a beautiful World Cup so far and you guys are so friendly I love it.”
Ecuador will rest before preparing to play the Netherlands on Friday, while Qatar will hope to improve against Senegal in the other group game.
