EastEnders star Tameka Empson surprised fans with the news that she had a son during the closing.
The 43-year-old actress announced her new arrival when she reunited with co-star Diane Parish on Thursday’s Loose Women prior to their appearance on Secrets From The Square.
Tameka – who took a break from EastEnders last year – admitted she kept her pregnancy a secret because she wanted to enjoy it herself, but confessed that parenting had been “a challenge” in lockdown.

Tameka – who plays Kim Fox on the soap – gushed: “I have contributed to humanity … I have a son, a bouncing son.
When asked how she handles closed life, she added:[It’s] a challenge … nothing prepares you for it.
“My daughter is six and we are home schooling, and then you have a newborn and you have to keep an eye on everything … he is now sleeping, which helps. I am made of the good things, I have endured it well. ‘

Clearly surprised by Tameka’s bombshell baby news, the panel asked why she chose to keep her pregnancy a secret.
She said, “It wasn’t that deliberate. I just wanted to enjoy it. A baby is coming and you want to enjoy it before everyone says, “How is he … etc.” “But now he’s here and he’s loud!”
Tameka took a break from EastEnders last year, but was confirmed last month to return to the soap later this year.
Tameka said of her return: “By the end of the year, stay tuned! Not quite sure yet, but I’ll be back! ‘
During her time with Loose Women, Tameka was joined by her Loose Women co-star Diane Parish, who plays Kim’s half-sister Denise.
