A Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputy rescued a one-year-old child from a locked car in a Walmart parking lot Monday night in Florida.

This is the dramatic moment a heroic Florida police officer smashed a car window and rescued a one-year-old boy from the hot vehicle.

Monday, deputies with the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a car locked in a Walmart parking lot.

When authorities arrived, they saw a man and woman standing outside a red Nissan Altima while the child was locked in the car.

The officer called the fire department for help when the adults told him the boy had been in the car for 10 minutes.

He quickly worked to get the trapped boy out of the hot car by breaking the window and opening it from the inside.

It is unclear if the adults are the children’s parents and if they were charged or fined. It is also unclear where exactly the incident took place.

DailyMail.com has contacted the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office for more information.

Body camera footage of the shocking incident begins with the officer pulling up behind the car while yelling, “Sheriff’s Office, did you call?”

The adults are heard in the background saying that they did call and that there is a baby in the car.

The police officer quickly gets out of his patrol car and asks them if the car is running.

“Shut up, shut up,” the woman says to the man who is near her and the car.

The responding officer says, “Whose car is it?”

“It’s mine,” the woman responds.

The officer says, ‘Okay, isn’t it on?’ As he pulls out a tool, he looks inside the car and talks into the radio, asking how far the fire department is from the scene.

“I’m going to break the window here in a second if FD isn’t around,” the officer tells the woman.

When the officer arrived, he approached a man and woman who appeared to be arguing. The woman said the child was locked inside her car.

The woman then turns to the man behind her and says something inaudible.

“I didn’t do anything,” the man tells him while the police officer asks him how long the child had been in the car.

“For about 10 minutes,” the woman responds.

“Okay, then I’m going to break the window,” the officer says as other police officers rush to the scene.

“No, no, no,” the woman tells the police officer.

‘I have to because she’s been stuck there. “I don’t know how far FD is, they’ve been there for 10 minutes,” the officer tells him.

The woman asks him if he has another tool and the police officer tells her no before hitting the stick on the ground and collapsing it.

Then he comes back to this patrol car and says, ‘We’re going to have to break the window,’ into his radio.

The officer retrieves another tool from his car before returning to the locked vehicle and asks the other officer, “Have you done this before?”

Moments later, the officer hits the rear passenger side window with the stick-like tool, breaking the glass.

He then steps back and punches him again as the other officer walks to the side of the car.

Once the window was broken, the officer reached inside the car to open the door. The car was filled with piles of dirty clothes and scattered objects.

Once all the glass is removed from the window, the officer reaches inside and opens the back door.

He reaches into the car, which is filled with mountains of dirty clothes and other items, and presses the button to unlock the car while the child cries.

The officer closes the back seat door and opens the passenger side door while the woman lifts the baby from the driver’s seat.

The video ends with the officer saying, “Keep FD en route just to access the child,” as the adults appear to talk to the other officer.

It is unclear how the girl became locked in the car and why she was found in the driver’s seat.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office released the body camera footage on x and said the child was ‘accidentally locked inside a vehicle.’

“After rescue, it was determined that the child was in good health despite heat exposure,” the post said.
