Donald Trump closed his blog website where he posts his statements
Donald Trump’s blog webpage where he began posting his statements last month has been closed for good.
“From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” has been removed from the former president’s website and instead the URL redirects users to a page to sign up for his email and text alerts.
Senior Trump Assistant Jason Miller told CNBC that the site ‘will not return’.
“It was just an addition to the broader efforts we have and are working on,” he added.
The site was established amid the former president who was banned from social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook after the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. However, the site received criticism from those who claimed it was a sad excuse for an alternative to these other platforms.
Trump promised after booting from his accounts that he would set up his own social media site, which he says is different from the “desk” blog.
Miller claimed he “hopes to have more information about the wider efforts” regarding the new social media site soon.
“I don’t have a precise sense of timing,” he said.
