“We apologize for any inconvenience caused to the local community due to the temporary closure of these stores and look forward to serving hot, fresh pizza again very soon.”

It is unclear when stores are likely to reopen.

The sudden closure has left the stores’ predominantly young staff out of work just days before the school holidays begin.

Dominos announced in August that its first month of fiscal 2025 had seen a 1.3 percent drop in sales.

Fortunately for Dominos fans in Townsville, six stores remain open in Kirwan, West End, Hermit Park, North Ward, Aitkenvale and Fairfield Central.
