Dolly Parton has revealed that Beyonce has recorded a cover of her iconic song Jolene, which may appear on her new country album, Renaissance Act II.

Parton, 78, first released Jolene in 1974 with Beyonce, 42, and used the iconic country number for her new foray into the musical genre, having released the chart-topping tracks Texas Hold ‘Em and 16 Carriages.

Talking to Knox NewsParton said: ‘I think she’s recorded Jolene and I think it’s probably going to be on her country album, which I’m very excited about.

‘I love her! She is a beautiful girl and a great singer.

‘We’ve kind of sent messages back and forth over the years. And she and her mom were like fans, and I was always touched that they were fans, and I always thought she was amazing.”

Act II will be released on March 29.

After Beyonce announced her new country album, Parton took to social media to write, “I’m a huge fan of Beyoncé and very excited that she’s done a country album.

‘So congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one single. Can’t wait to hear the whole album!’

Beyonce surprised fans by teasing upcoming new music when she surprised in a Verizon Super Bowl ad last month — for which she reportedly received a $30 million payout.

The icon – who attended the big game alongside other notable stars – moved through different personas in the minute-long commercial and tried to ‘break the internet’ with over-the-top performances.

And just like she did eight years ago, the Grammy-winning musician blew fans away on Sunday when she dropped two new singles.

Announcing an upcoming album, a country-genre follow-up to 2022’s Renaissance, she also released two new singles in tandem.

Beyonce showed off her trim waist wearing a silver bikini top and tiny heart-shaped metal bottoms attached to a belt in the new artwork for her song Texas Hold ‘Em.

In Texas Hold ‘Em, she screams: ‘This ain’t Texas / Ain’t no hold ’em / So we put our cards down, down, down, down.’

‘I’ll be damned if I can’t slow-dance with you/ Come pour some sugar on me, baby too/ It’s a real-life boogie and a real-life hoedown/ Don’t be ab****, come and take it to the floor now, woo, ha.’

Meanwhile, on 16 Carriages, the singer reflects on life’s struggles.

‘Sixteen wagons drive away/ As I watch them drive away with my dreams/ To the summer sunset on a holy night/ On a long back road I fight with all the tears.’

‘It’s been 38 summers and I’m not in my bed/ At the back of the bus and a berth with the tape/ Overworked and overwhelmed/ I might cook, clean, but still won’t fold/ I’m still working on my life, you know.’
