DJ Tigerlily was rushed to the hospital to undergo surgery due to a possible life-threatening health condition.

The 32-year-old Sydney singer revealed on Instagram on Wednesday that she had to have her appendix removed.

In her social media post, Tigerlily shared a series of photos from her hospital stay and explained to her 572,000 followers that she had initially had a normal day spending time with her one-year-old son Lando.

“One minute you’re coloring with your kid at playgroup and the next you’re being sent to the ER for emergency surgery to remove your appendix,” she captioned her post.

‘The last few days have been a wild ride… there were tears, some new scars and a rollercoaster of emotions.’

Tigerlily, whose real name is Dara Lawson, went on to thank her close circle of friends and family, including her husband Scott Lawson, as well as the hospital staff who cared for her.

“I’m incredibly grateful to my people – particularly my mother and husband, who have really held their own at home while I’ve been in the hospital,” she added.

‘To all my beautiful friends who have sent me flowers and food, and to my wonderful colleagues for tidying up and putting work on hold while I rest and recover.

‘To the nurses, doctors, surgeons and hospital staff who looked after me – thank you! You are superheroes! I am so grateful to live in Sydney, so close to such a wonderful hospital as the Royal North Shore… From the moment I walked through the doors of the Emergency Department until I left days later, I felt so cared for and looked after.’

The DJ then announced the heartbreaking decision to reschedule her upcoming shows, which are just days away, while she recovers.

“I regret to announce that my shows this weekend at Deck Bendigo and Billboard Melbourne will have to be postponed,” Tigerlily continued.

“I don’t take cancellations lightly, especially knowing the effort that goes into planning these events. I hate disappointing my fans and it’s important to me to put in the best performance possible when I recover.”
