Diego Simeone ‘personally names Lucas Torreira’ as Atlético Madrid enters the race to sign out Arsenal midfielder on loan

Diego Simeone has reportedly made contact with Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira, with Atletico Madrid interested in bringing the 24-year-old to the club on loan.
Torreira’s future at Emirates Stadium is uncertain, with new boss Mikel Arteta looking to bolster his midfield before the transfer window closes. Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar have been strongly associated with a move.
As such, the Gunners are open to letting the Uruguayan midfielder leave, and the former Sampdoria midfielder has been linked with a return to Italy, with interest from Fiorentina and Torino.

And according to ASAtlético is also interested in Torreira and has opened talks with Arsenal about a move for the 24-year-old.
The Spanish outlet reports that Atletico is initially seeking a loan deal for Torreira, while boss Simeone has personally contacted the Arsenal man in an attempt to convince him to move to Spain.
Torreira has fallen in the pecking order at Arsenal under Arteta and has not been part of the Spaniard’s roster for one of the club’s first two Premier League games.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are interested in signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey
The 24-year-old played 39 games for The Gunners last season, scoring two goals and assisting one.
Arsenal have reportedly already offered Alexander Lacazette and Matteo Guendouzi to Atletico as a sweetener to take over Partey from Simeone’s side.
Atlético, however, has rejected Arsenal’s approach, demanding £ 45.5 million for the midfielder.
