Dean McDermott came to ex Tori Spelling’s defense this week after an internet troll criticized her for liking an Instagram photo of Dean and his new girlfriend Lil Calo.
When a social media user commented under the 57-year-old actor’s post and said, “The fact that Tori liked this is mind-blowing,” he quickly responded.
“It’s because she is a highly evolved, compassionate and loving person, which is more than I can say for the trolls commenting on this post,” Dean responded.
He added: ‘Tori has a boyfriend. People get divorced and are better off apart than together. This is life. I will pray for the happiness of all the haters.”
McDermott went Instagram official with Calo days ago, sharing two photos from their date night at Magic Castle.

Dean looked handsome in a dark pinstriped suit and a white button-down shirt.
He affectionately put an arm around Lily, who coordinated with him in a black striped dress.
A second photo showed Calo lovingly giving the TV star a kiss on the cheek.
Not long after sharing the images on her Instagram grid, Tori gave the relationship her blessing by liking the post.
The former spouses announced last June that they were separating.
Last March, Spelling officially filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
The two share five children: Liam, 17, Stella, 15, Hattie, 12, Finn, 11, and Beau, seven.
McDermott was first linked to Lily in October 2023, when they were seen holding hands during an outing in Los Angeles.
He appeared to move in with Calo in January, when he was seen carrying boxes to her house.

Dean’s public defense of Tori comes after he responded to her divorce request by filing his own legal papers on Monday.
The actor opposed his ex-wife’s offer to have sole custody of their children and requested joint physical and legal custody, according to court documents obtained by Page six.
Dean also sought spousal support for himself while asking the court to end Tori’s spousal support, mirroring her initial request.
Both parties also ask the other party to cover their respective attorneys’ fees.
