Shawn Levy recalled watching a Kansas City Chiefs game against the New York Jets with Taylor Swift and said he won’t soon forget the experience.
The Deadpool and Wolverine director, 55, attended the game last October with a group of friends that included the Bad Blood hitmaker, 34, who is dating Chiefs star Travis Kelce, 34, as well as the stars of his latest film, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
“I’ll tell you this, watching a football game with Taylor is different than just watching a football game,” Levy said. People at the premiere of his new film on Monday.
“Yes, the increase in recognition that occurred in that football match… (I) didn’t count on that,” he said, adding: “I didn’t count on that at all.”
“I will certainly forget many football matches I have seen in my life, but not that one,” he concluded.

The filmmaker previously described the experience as “depressing” in an interview with Variety in October.
“It’s almost depressing, actually. I could make 50 more hit movies and shows and I’d still be known as the guy in the orange suede jacket who went to the Chiefs-Jets game with Taylor and others.”
He also described the singer as “a cultural magnet like I’ve never seen before.”
Levy had been invited by Reynolds (whose wife Blake Lively was also in attendance) to what he hoped would be a boys’ night at MetLife Stadium.
He explained: “It was as simple as, ‘Wait, can we go to an NFL game with our friends? Let’s do it.'” He noted: “We had an idea that there might be others, but nothing prepared us for the frenzy of attention that was that outing.”
Despite the unexpected attention he and his friends received, the Stranger Things director called it a “really fun night.”
He later emphasized: “I’ve met famous people, but Taylor is definitely a cultural magnet like I’ve never seen before.”
The Adam Project director recalled: ‘I think I said to Ryan and Blake (Lively) on the way to the stadium… “I’ve never been more conscious of being careful what I say,” because if you’re going to watch a football game in a box seat with Taylor, you pretty much have to assume that you’re on camera the whole time and that they’re able to do slow motion, so they can definitely read lips.

Reynolds invited Levy to what he hoped would be a boys’ night at MetLife Stadium, before running into Taylor’s mania.

And he added jokingly: “So I kept it clean.”
Joining the group in the high-profile box were Sabrina Carpenter and Sophie Turner.
After the game, Levy joked on Instagram that “all future Sunday nights are ruined.”
He continued to show his great sense of humor when he added: “Apparently there was a football game last night as well.”
The director is keeping busy with his projects and on Monday he attended the star-studded premiere of his new film, alongside Reynolds, the man behind Deadpool, his stunning wife Blake, who sported a Deadpool-inspired look, and Jackman, who reprises his role as Wolverine.
Deadpool & Wolverine is the third film in the popular Deadpool franchise that has been a success at the worldwide box office.
Deadpool was released in 2016 and grossed $782.8 million against a budget of $58 million.
The sequel, Deadpool 2 (2018), was a huge hit with fans in terms of money-making, grossing $785.8 million while working on a $110 million budget.

On Monday, he attended the star-studded premiere of his new film, Deadpool & Wolverine, at the David Koch Theater in New York City.
The star-studded event attracted a host of celebrities including Ryan, the man behind Deadpool, and his stunning wife Blake Lively in a Deadpool-inspired look.

Most recently, he played the iconic role in Logan (2017), which also became a huge hit grossing $619.2 million after spending between $97 and $127 million on the budget.
The previous two films in the franchise began with X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and The Wolverine (2013), both of which were successful at the box office, although neither of them surpassed the $415 million mark.
Jackman also portrayed Logan/Wolverine in the casts of X-Men (2000), X2 (2003), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) and X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014).
Deadpool & Wolverine is set to hit theaters on July 26.
