It is anarchy in the United States.
More and more Americans live every day in a dystopia that just a few years ago would have been totally unimaginable.
From the big cities to the border, and even in some suburbs, the rule of law no longer has any meaning, hard-working families have to pay the price in blood and money.
The America we grew up in – bright malls that weren’t raided by mobs of thieves, gas stations where carjacking wasn’t commonplace, and public transportation that didn’t serve shelter for the homeless – is disappearing.
Last week came the sobering figure that our country now has a $100 billion a year shoplifting habit.
Hundred billion dollars. The annual budget for the entire state of Maryland is only $65 billion.
And that’s money that, according to the National Retail Federation, stores never get back. As cheeky crooks stuff backpacks full of unchallenged goods, the police – extremely overwhelmed – are unlikely to ever show up.

Businesses big and small are being crushed, while huge amounts of lost revenue are passed on to consumers in price hikes, just as inflation and rising interest rates punish wage earners.
On Tuesday, a Chicago-based branch of Walgreens launched a new “anti-theft” design in which only the aisles contain actual products that consumers can freely place in their shopping carts. Everything else must be ordered at the counter.
It’s just the latest escalation in what’s been happening across the country for months, with stores from Target to CVS locking items of negligible value behind infantilizing glass shutters.
Like kindergarteners, we now have to ask our childminders for permission to see the toothpaste and deodorant.
While elsewhere shops are closing completely – unable to fend off thieves with the most extreme measures.
In the rare cases where criminals are apprehended, George Soros-backed district attorneys simply ignore them, preferring instead to pursue false charges and false indictments to advance social justice.
Indeed, things are particularly bad in Democratic-run cities.
Chicago, New York, San Francisco. Once great bastions of American prosperity, reduced to fentanyl-filled, rat-infested hells, as their ultra-liberal leaders waste money on woke policies, decriminalize hard drugs and use their podiums to lecture us on transgender injustice.

The $6 million ad campaign featuring a drag queen launched by San Fransisco this week in a desperate bid to lure tourists to the ailing city says it all.
Meanwhile, the pandemic-era “Title 42” migrant deportation policy was shelved by President Joe Biden less than a month ago, but already more than half of hotel rooms in New York, a former mecca for tourism, are filled with migrants shipped across the border. They cross by the thousands every day.
Yet, at the same time, Biden and his cronies are celebrating the passage of a debt ceiling suspension agreement that will see the national debt soar to $35 trillion.
Our homes and our financial security no longer belong to us. And this administration cannot be trusted to lead.
For at every turn, every moment now, once-normal, traditional, and enjoyable aspects of American life are being crushed like cigarettes under the Birkenstocks of progressive government.
But are we just supposed to set up and shut up?
Are normal, decent men and women supposed to just accept that they are now paying the check for all this incompetence?
Business mogul James Crown – worth an estimated $10.2 billion – pledged last week to help make Chicago “the safest big city in America”, using his own money and that of other generous philanthropists.

In the year to March 2023, Chicago saw a 47% increase in crime, with sexual assaults and robberies making up the bulk of the increase.
But a functioning society cannot rely on charity.
People want good governance. And as Republicans gear up for 2024, whoever the candidate is, this great depressing American decline duty be the central question.
Otherwise, we risk losing everything.
