A “selfish and vindictive” daughter who set out to humiliate her father’s ex-lover has been jailed for three years after the police officer’s affair tore their families apart.

Eleanor Brown, 24, with the help of her mother and sister, who were also police officers and ex-officers, transmitted intimate sexual images and videos of her father’s ex-lover Geoff.

The affair between retired police officer Geoff Brown, 61, and the woman had devastating consequences after it came back to haunt them 12 years after it ended.

Geoff’s wife Sarah, 57, still harbored burning resentment towards the woman who almost destroyed their marriage and in 2022 sent sexual images of the lover to her daughter.

Eleanor Brown then began bombarding the woman’s husband with photographs and also created a profile on a sex-selling site called Beaver Street.

The ad offered sexual services and included photographs of the lover.

It included the number of the woman’s husband, who received 14 text messages and eight calls from potential clients in the space of half an hour after the ad was published.

Both families have been devastated by the repercussions of the affair.

Eleanor Brown is now in prison and her sister Sophie, 26, has been sacked by West Yorkshire Police, where she was a patrol officer.

Now both families are picking up the pieces after an affair that both couples seemed to have survived suddenly blew up again in their lives.

In a victim statement, the former lover, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, spoke of her devastation.

She said: ‘If you’ve ever felt so upset that you constantly feel nauseous and anxious, you’ll know how I felt.

‘I still remember the moment my husband told me what he had done, the look of panic and discomfort on his face as he revealed the extent of his actions.

‘I couldn’t stop the nightmare of my intimate photographs being shared with anyone.

‘They were photographs of me and she shared them with anonymous people for their sexual gratification.

‘The fact that my photographs were used by strangers disgusted me and I find it hard to believe that one woman would do this to another. To say I felt violated is an understatement.

“The thought of his control over me makes me anxious and the hatred he has harbored towards me over the years is very evident.”

The court heard that Eleanor Brown had known about the affair since she was a child and over the years had turned her father’s lover, whom she never met, into a “caricature”.

Harry Crowson, mitigating, said the Brown family did not discuss Geoff’s infidelity with her or try to support her. Instead, she said, they ‘yelled at her and lied to her.’

Simmering resentment over the torrid affair came to life when Sarah Brown discovered that the lover’s husband had started a new business, advertising on Facebook.

The court heard she flagged the post on Facebook and also sent him the sexual images.

Prompted by her mother and sister, who were involved in the planning, Eleanor Brown began bombarding the business page with messages.

Prosecutor Lucy Brown said: “Business was going well and getting positive reviews, but on August 27, 2022, Eleanor Brown posted a profile message calling his wife a homewrecking whore and a tramp.”

He later messaged her on WhatsApp and sent her the listing on the Beaver Street sex site.

He even sent her a link to Celine Dion’s song ‘It’s All Coming Back To Me Now’, a reference to his wife’s affair.

Mrs Brown said: “In desperation, the husband attempted to contact Geoff Brown, which, given the background, he had no particular desire to do.”

“He attempted to call and text Mr Brown, who was on holiday abroad with his wife at the time.

“Eleanor Brown found out about the contact through several WhatsApp messages from Sarah Brown.”

It had no effect on Eleanor Brown and she then decided to contact the couple’s daughter.

Lucy Brown told the court: “In that message, Eleanor Brown said: ‘I will make sure your mother is never allowed to forget what she did to my family and wherever she goes, her pictures will remain and follow her.’

Judge Alex Menary did not diminish the role of former police officer Sarah Brown in the case, who was dismissed at a police disciplinary hearing by West Yorkshire Police in April.

Judge Menary said: “You conspired with your sister and mother to create the Beaver Street advert.”

He also acknowledged that Sarah Brown sent Eleanor the sexual images, saying: “There is clear evidence that she wanted you to use them in some way.”

Crowson, for Brown, said: “She discovered the affair and, instead of being supported and cared for, she was shouted at and lied to.”

As the years went by (the lover) existed in a bubble and became almost a caricature, someone who she knew nothing about other than what she was told.

“She became a warrior in a war she shouldn’t even have been fighting.”

He said she acted out her trauma while drinking, adding: “She was egged on by two family members who were a police officer and a former police officer and yet she sits alone in the dock.”

Brown had originally denied two charges of revealing private sexual images, but changed his plea to guilty midway through his trial last month.

Judge Menary did not give him credit for his guilty pleas because he indulged in the “ultimate act of brinkmanship” by forcing his victims to testify.

He said: “You maximized their humiliation by forcing them to come to court to give evidence in front of a courtroom full of strangers and the public gallery.”

Judge Menary said: ‘One of the most appalling and vindictive aspects of this case is that you took the time to compose a long and scathing message to your daughter. You tried to drag her into your unhappy existence, which was embarrassing.

Their actions led the couple to reveal the woman’s affair for the first time. He jailed her for three years, saying she had shown a “staggering” lack of remorse and exhibited “vindictive, selfish and vengeful behaviour”.

He said: ‘You were arrested and interviewed and you didn’t apologize at all. The lack of remorse you showed was astonishing. Acting the way he has is totally devoid of any moral compass.’
