EXCLUSIVE

A glamorous New Zealand influencer who recently separated from her husband has revealed her new romance with a convicted rapist, leaving her fans shocked.

Auckland-based diamond store owner and jewelry designer Sera Cruickshank blasted her new boyfriend in a video shared with her 25,000 followers on January 1.

She didn’t name the latest lover in the clip, but she tagged him in the video and eagle-eyed online sleuths discovered he was wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet on his ankle.

He was identified as Jamie Foster, a former police officer who was convicted in March 2020 of raping a colleague who was sleeping at a motel in 2019 and sentenced to six years in prison.

He was released on parole in April 2022, but is still required to wear the ankle bracelet visible in photos Cruickshank shared of the couple’s recent adventures.

The footage, which featured the Lewis Capaldi song ‘Love The Hell Out Of You’, showed the pair enjoying road trips, beach visits and lunch dates, with Foster at one point lovingly kissing Cruickshank’s hand.

“The contrast was 2024,” the mother of two wrote alongside the clip. ‘Simply the worst and best moments of my life.

‘Good morning 2025.’

Cruickshank’s relationship update comes after she recently quietly split from her husband Dan Cruickshank.

She married Cruickshank, owner of Auckland construction company Buildforce, in 2017 and the former couple share two children.

Friends were quick to send their best wishes to Cruickshank on his new relationship and the year ahead, but many were surprised by the new man’s choice.

‘Happy new year queen! Congratulations on weathering the shitstorm of 2024 and emerging better than ever,” wrote a friend.

‘Happy New Year beautiful girl! Thankful for you, proud of you AND everything you’ve done, including this reel. Happily ever after, baby,” said another.

However, others were stunned by their surprising new relationship.

“Jesus,” one wrote online.

“Mom, I’m in love with a criminal,” said another.

‘Wow. That’s fucked up,” wrote a third.

Cruickshank shared photos of the couple on Instagram on January 1 alongside Lewis Capaldi's 'Love The Hell Out Of You' son.

Foster and his victim had been staying at a Kerikeri motel in New Zealand’s Northland with a group of officers, assigned to help monitor the 2019 Waitangi Day events at the Treaty Grounds at the time of the rape.

The group was partying and drinking alcohol that was stored in the room Foster was staying in with a colleague.

When the woman went into the room to get a drink, Foster touched her and she told him to stop.

She later returned to the room at the end of the night and woke up around 2:30 a.m. to find Foster raping her.

At his rape trial, Foster claimed that the sex was consensual and that he believed the woman’s reaction to the groping incident meant “not yet.”

He said he also believed the woman had invited him to come to her room later.

However, the jury found Foster guilty, and Foster’s repeated efforts to appeal his convictions were rejected.

At the time of his release, the New Zealand Parole Board noted that Foster’s risk to the community was “low” and that he presented a “below average” risk of sexual reoffending.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Cruickshank and Foster for comment.
