Mike Tyson bought a $13 million mansion in Florida after winning $20 in the Jake Paul fight

Mike Tyson blew his prize money from fighting Jake Paul in November by buying a $13 million mansion on an exclusive estate in Florida.

The 58-year-old boxing legend returned to the ring at AT&T Stadium in Texas for an eight-round fight with Paul, 30 years his junior, in Netflix’s first live boxing event.

Despite losing the 16-minute snooze-fest and having the pre-fight Netflix stream marred by glitches, Tyson reportedly pocketed $20 million for his return to the ring.

Months later, The Mirror reported that a special warranty deed confirmed Tyson as the new owner of the Florida property and quoted his representative, Joseph Jonathan Schneider, on the purchase.

‘This has been a successful transaction with all parties demonstrating professionalism and cooperation. The Tyson family has been a valued customer and friend for years, and it has been a pleasure working with them,” said Schneider.

The special bond was filed on January 13 and includes the names of Tyson and his wife, Lahika. It also lists the final sale date for the 2.7-hectare parcel as January 8.

According to the Palm Beach Post, the property in upscale Tierra del Rey Estates offers access to a private lake.

In November, real estate agent Matthew Maschler revealed that Tyson’s purchase was inspired by his daughter’s tennis career.

Tyson’s 16-year-old daughter Milan is a promising tennis player with Grand Slam connections. Milan has been linked with Serena Williams after training in France with her former coach Patrick Mourtagolou.

“Basically the draw to him is that his daughter plays tennis, and she plays in Delray, so he wants to be able to fly in, go see his daughter’s tennis match, go back to his plane and fly to wherever he’s coming from,” Maschler said on an Instagram post.

Iron Mikes’ newest property was off the market and not publicly listed before its purchase. However, months before the deal closed, Maschler teased his research on social media.

“Did Mike Tyson just buy a big deal in Delray?” he said early in his video.

Tyson indicated that the fight with Jake Paul would be the final chapter of his boxing career, given the physical and emotional challenges he faced upon stepping back into the squared circle.

“This is one of those situations where you lost but still won,” Tyson wrote after the fight on X. “I don’t regret getting in the ring one last time. I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. I lost half my blood and 25 pounds in the hospital and had to fight to get healthy, so I won.”

Tyson had a record of 58-6 in his professional career with 44 knockouts before retiring in 2005. He competed in an exhibition against Roy Jones in 2020 before preparing to fight Paul last year.
