Prince Harry will meet his father, King Charles, for the second time since his cancer diagnosis next week.

The Duke of Sussex will attend a ceremony at St Paul’s Cathedral to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, just two miles from where his father will attend another event in London at the same time on Wednesday.

Days after the King’s diagnosis in February, the two spoke for about half an hour.

Harry, 39, is reportedly “very interested” in seeing his father on his trip to London and is said to have “maintained regular contact” with Charles, 75, since announcing he had cancer.

After recently announcing he would resume public duties, the King will attend Buckingham Palace’s first garden party of the year from 4pm on Wednesday.

The Invictus Games garden party and ceremony is expected to end around 6 p.m., allowing the two to meet in person for the first time since February, the Sun reports.

A source told the newspaper that while Harry is normally “5,0000 miles away” from his father in California, it will be a “happy coincidence” that they will be just two miles from each other on Wednesday.

“It’s clear he’s looking forward to seeing his dad as he continues his recovery and most people are expecting another reunion of some kind next week,” the source added.

However, such a meeting is unlikely to include Prince William in attendance.

On Thursday, William is likely to be out of London and on Friday he has engagements in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Meghan is not expected to be with Harry at St Paul’s Cathedral.

Another source told the Mirror that the Duke of Sussex has “maintained regular contact with his father” and “has made no secret of his desire to see him when he can.”

The source added that Harry was “especially worried” about his father and hopes he will be well enough on Wednesday for them to be able to see each other.

On Thursday, Harry will join his wife Meghan in Nigeria, where they were invited to discuss the Invictus Games.

It is the couple’s first visit to the West African country.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will then fly directly back to the United States without stopping in Britain.
