Matt Baker and his wife Nicola Money celebrated 20 years of marriage when they appeared in Lorraine on Friday.

The TV presenter, 46, and his partner, who married in 2004, spoke to guest presenter Christine Lampard about their new Channel 4 show, Our Farm Dream.

Matt said: “We didn’t work together much, we did the lockdown show in the valleys, but this is our first live TV interview together.”

The Countryfile star, who described their years together as a “fun adventure”, told the story of how the couple met.

He said: “When we met I was a gymnast in a 70s reenactment group, it was called Disco Inferno, I used to wear wigs so you’d never know it was me.” Nicola was working at a club in Cleethorpes where we were playing and that’s how we met.

Nicola added: ‘When I met Matt as a teenager that’s when I fell in love with the farm, the countryside and that way of life. Before that I had no experience of it.’

It comes after Matt recently opened up about a debilitating health condition that is affecting his life.

The TV presenter can no longer “lean forward” following a back injury he suffered during his pantomime performance.

Matt spoke with Gabby Logan on the Mid Point podcast about the health issue that’s been bothering him.

He said he suffered a painful “slipped disc” which he rehearsed for his pantomime.

When Gabby asked Matt, who was once a gymnast, if he could still do backflips, he said, “No, I can’t now.” I hurt my back.

“I can’t express how annoying it is for a former gymnast to not be able to lean forward.”

He went on to explain how the injury occurred and said he had a mishap during rehearsals.

The TV presenter can no longer “bend forward” following a back injury he suffered during his pantomime career.

Matt explained: ‘I did my back. He was doing a panto. I was doing Goldilocks and the Three Bears and we were practicing with the stunt chairs, and the chair wasn’t positioned correctly and bam!

“I fell on my tailbone and it turns out I slipped a disc in my back.”

Matt tried to recover through training and rehabilitation, but now has injections to control the pain.

Referring to his wife Nicola Baker, Gabby noted that she lives with a physiotherapist.

He replied, ‘I know exactly, so we tried all that.’ I went for the nerve block (injection)..’
