Adrian Portelli (pictured) will cause chaos as he brings his grocery gift to Sydney on Tuesday.
Hundreds of people are believed to be already queuing in stores to see it and those lucky enough will get a voucher worth $100 or $200 from Portelli.
“This shows how desperate people are these days and we’re happy to help,” he said last month.
“A lot of these people have supported me over the year, so it’s time to give back.”
Adrian is the founder of online company LCMT+ which frequently gives away big cash prizes and luxury cars, as well as offering its members discounted products at retailers.
The car enthusiast made international headlines when he had a rare $3 million McClaren brought up to his $39 million Melbourne penthouse in May last year.
He is also a regular on The Block, purchasing houses during the auction.
In 2022, he offered $4.8 million for Omar and Oz’s Gisborne South home during the final bid for The Block.
“Back then I was pretty low-key, so no one really knew how much I was worth or how much money I had,” he said.
Their previous giveaway took place in Tasmania, where long lines of hopeful shoppers appeared waiting to receive donations (pictured).
“People thought I couldn’t afford the house; obviously I knew I could buy all the houses.”
Portelli grew up in Melbourne’s western suburbs and made his fortune through technology startups.
He has a diverse business portfolio reportedly worth $1 billion and now turns over around $100 million a year, or $2 million a week.
The famous block bidder shelled out a staggering $39 million for his Melbourne property, which is the heart of the CBD in a new twin tower development.
He is currently spending $6 million to modify and customize the 1,200-square-meter sky house.
The businessman explained to realestate.com.au that he decided to buy the apartment the same day he saw it for “security” and because it was a “blank canvas.”
He also admitted that a selling point was the penthouse’s direct connection to the second tower, which will house a five-star Shangri-La hotel.
The hotel includes a bar with a transparent floor that has a bridge linking the two towers at a high level.
“This shows how desperate people are these days and we’re happy to help,” he said last month. “A lot of these people have supported me over the year, so it’s time to give back.”
“I have an elevator from my apartment that goes directly to the bar,” Portelli said.
Portelli, known for his high spending and lavish lifestyle, shares his ten-month-old son Mercy with his girlfriend Karlie Butler.
The unique name pays homage to one of the first luxury cars Portelli purchased: a rare orange Lamborghini Murcielago valued at more than $700,000.
Portelli and Butler have been together for more than a year and met at a bar.
